The Detroit Red Wings need to add more size in the lineup, and in this trade proposal, the team added forward Lawson Crouse for a Red Wings player and a draft pick.

Let's get meaner!
GM Steve Yzerman could add some meaningful size to the lineup and make the Red Wings difficult to play against if they could trade for a Utah Mammoth forward.
That power forward is Lawson Crouse, who was originally an 11th overall pick in 2015 by the Florida Panthers. Crouse has played 585 NHL games, and all of them with the same franchise (Arizona Coyotes) until the Smith Entertainment Group moved them to Utah.

The Cost for the Red Wings to Acquire Lawson Crouse

The Mammoth player is a gritty power forward who has skills beyond physicality. He'd be a great addition and would be cheap to acquire.
All Steve Yzerman would have to give up is:
Red Wings acquire:

Lawson Crouse

Mammoth acquire:

J.T. Compher
2026 third-round pick

The Red Wing would add size, skills, and physicality to the middle-six forward group. While the Utah Mammoth gets a pick to rebuild with and JT Compher, strengthening the third line.
Crouse only scored 18 points (12-6) last season with the Mammoth, but has seen increased productivity in the past as a top-six forward in the Coyotes lineup beforehand.
His career year came in 2022-23, where he scored 45 points (24-21), and if the Red Wings and Todd McLellan could tap into that again, he'd be worth every penny of his $21.5 million deal.
