The Detroit Red Wings prepare to take on the Carolina Hurricanes in do or die game tonight, April 4, and the team seems very confident in their ability to contend for final multi-game homestand of the 2024/25 regular season.

The Red Wings will host Carolina tonight for a detrimental game which will decipher whether or not Detroit moves on in their fight for postseason contention for the Eastern Conference's second Wild-Card spot.
The organization claims they are ready and taking all precautions to ensure they make an appearance to this year's playoffs.
Key-forward, Alex DeBrincat on the importance of points on home ice:
«You can't give up those points on home ice,» Alex DeBrincat said. «There are a lot of great teams coming up on our schedule, so to get the confidence and beat one of those teams right off the bat tomorrow is going to go a long way, but we got to come ready to play.»

Detroit will be stepping foot on the ice at 34-33-7, with 75 points, just four points behind the Montreal Canadiens who stand at 79 points, for the Eastern Conference's final postseason spot.
The team is desperate for this win in order to play beyond the NHL's regular-season finale on April 17, and DeBrincat touched base on that as well:
«I check out [the standings],» DeBrincat said. «It's hard not to at this point of the year. Where we're at, we're confident in what we have in this room. The ability to come back, I know four points isn't necessarily easy, but it's definitely possible. I think we have the group to do it.» «I check out [the standings],» DeBrincat said. «It's hard not to at this point of the year. Where we're at, we're confident in what we have in this room. Although there is no certainty of whether or not the Red Wings still have a chance at the playoffs (it depends if the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets win their upcoming games), but what is certain is tonight's game will definitely be a nail-biter.
