Detroit Red Wings free agency target unveils his contract demands before July 1st

When Steve Yzerman of the Detroit Red Wings reaches out to Dallas Stars Center Matt Duchene, he'll have to keep in mind the future UFA's demand: Stability.
Dallas Stars' Center Matt Duchene finished out his second contract with the team, and will be a pending UFA as his 1-year, $3 million deal expires.
There should be a bidding war for the Center, who has proven himself still the stud that many teams should consider making an offer to.
That includes GM Steve Yzerman of the Detroit Red Wings, who should have the 34-year-old free agent on his radar.
While he hopes he can re-sign with the team he's seen the postseason with regularly, things could change as his goals have. One of his own goals is to have a deal with more term on it, "stability".
«Like I said last year, I'm pretty open about it, I'd like to stay here and make it work,» he said. «I'm in a little different place than I was last year, looking at things. I believe in this group and want to be here. I know how close we are, and I don't take that lightly.»
Duchene has been a "Star" literally for the team, putting up points at a point-per-game pace. 82 in 82 games literally, (30 goals, 52 assists), and that rust accumulated in Nashville is long gone.
He'll have to recollect himself in order to prepare for free agency after making a second-straight trip to the WCF, only to get shut down by the Edmonton Oilers this season.
Duchene will be due a raise, and has taken team-friendly deals to remain in Dallas and compete. I'd imagine with the needs the Red Wings have, they'll have to consider Duchene's demands, of a better term than just a year and a more seductive number than just $3 million AAV.
There are no honky-tonk bars in Detroit that we know of either.
