Detroit Red Wings have lost another goaltender due to injury
The injury bug just won't leave the Detroit Red Wings alone, as it looks like they've now lost goaltender Alex Lyon to an undisclosed injury.
The Detroit Red Wings have gone through their fair share of injuries this year, including notable setbacks to all three goaltenders on the roster.
And now, it looks as though they've suffered another setback. Goaltender Alex Lyon, who began tonight's game at Little Caesars Arena against the Ottawa Senators, was replaced by Cam Talbot for the start of the 2nd period.
Unfortunately, the Red Wings have confirmed that Lyon will not return to tonight's game and that he's out with an upper-body injury.
Lyon was perfect in the opening 20 minutes of play, stopping all 10 shots. He already missed multiple games earlier this year due to injury and had won his last 3 consecutive games coming into tonight's matchup.
Meanwhile, Talbot has also missed time this year.
