Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings have a great opportunity to acquire a promising forward prospect in a trade with the New York Rangers.

It's safe to say that the New York Rangers haven't started the season the way the organization wanted its Centennial season to start.
The team has a 2-3 record, with the three losses at home in an embarrassing fashion: they haven't scored a single goal at Madison Square Garden yet.
At this point, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Rangers make some moves on the trade market early in the season.
Elliotte Friedman made a massive statement on that possibility in a recent interview, saying that the team could end up shopping their 16th overall pick in 2021, Brennan Othmann.

Rangers Looking To Trade Prospect, A Great Opportunity For Steve Yzerman And The Detroit Red Wings

The renowned NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently stated that the Rangers are looking to trade Brennan Othmann amid the rough start:
"It's early and most teams try to wait until making moves, but there is at least one name gaining traction out there.

That's New York Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann.

Othmann was sent down to AHL Hartford after failing to make the NHL team, and, since that occurred, there have been conversations with other clubs about his future.

The Rangers have a lot on the wings and it simply may be that he needs a fresh start elsewhere."

Earlier this week, reports confirmed that the Wings could be interested in trading a defenseman to add a forward, with Travis Hamonic and Erik Gustafsson named in the rumors by David Pagnotta, who also mentioned Jonatan Berggren.
Here's what he said:
Othmann would be a great addition for the Wings.
He has a lot of potential, and a fresh start could help him reach it.
