A Detroit Red Wings legend has ultimately been given the cold shoulder by the National Hockey League in a recent statement and it is shocking.
The National Hockey League recently announced their NHL Quarter Century Team players just last week, and a Red Wing player who helped fuel the latest golden era has somehow been ignored.
NHL Quarter Century Team has somehow left off the Detroit Red Wings' former legend Henrik Zetterberg
The Red Wings' former Henri Zetterberg is known in more than just Detroit; he's an NHL legend, and even majority of hockey fans around the globe know his name for how illustrious his career was.
Yet somehow, it has been confirmed that the National Hockey League did in fact brush him off when it came time for the NHL Quarterfinals Century Team, as his name was never debuted.
Henrik Zetterberg should have been awarded with a spot on the NHL's Quarter Century Team
Zetterberg was a force for the Detroit Red Wings from 2002/03 to 2017/18, powering the team's overall success despite only one Stanley Cup win.
From 2005/05 to 2014/15, this legend averaged over one point per game, accumulating 259 goals and 699 points in just 696 games, he played a big factor in helping the Red Wings dominate and reach their deep playoff runs.
Throughout his whole career, Zetterberg played 1,082 games, scored 337 goals, tallied 960 points, and averaged a total ice time of 19:33.
Although it is extremely unforunate that this legend was not represented for the NHL Quarter-Century Team, his legacy will continue as future fans will know his name and impact within his glory days in the 2000's and 2010's.
