Detroit Red Wings offer laughable offer to fans amidst playoff hopes dying down

With their playoff chances all but officially gone, the Red Wings are offering a one-time discount to their fans who will gather for the final home game of the year on Monday.
The Detroit Red Wings have virtually zero chance at the Stanley Cup Playoffs following Tuesday night's 4-1 loss to the divisional foe Montreal Canadiens and Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.
They will play one final game at Little Caesars Arena this year, and it's been billed as Fan Appreciation Night.
The Red Wings have announced that those still buying tickets for the event on Monday night will not have to pay the exorbitant parking fee of $55.
The Red Wings have enjoyed strong crowds in Detroit this season, as Little Caesars Arena has sold over 95% of tickets for hockey games. However, the team performance overall once again has not been enough to get them over the hump of what is the longest postseason drought in franchise history.
Red Wings icon Sergei Fedorov believes the current team is stuck
When asked about how he feels regarding the performance of the current edition of the club, Red Wings legend Sergei Fedorov, who helped the team win 3 Stanley Cups and scored 400 goals wearing the Winged Wheel, said that he believes they're stuck.
They seem stuck. They have a good coach, but no strong goalie tandem and not enough key players. It's a young team without veterans, and that makes the rebuild even harder. I don't see three or four strong, mobile defensemen there. Steve Yzerman is doing solid work through the draft, but it takes more than that. Their last right-shooting forward left for a bigger contract, and that didn't help either.
Will GM Steve Yzerman address the roster needs and have this team back in the playoffs next year?
