Detroit Red Wings prospect Maxmilian Kilpinen, who was taken 129th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, has been released by his Swedish club.

It looks as though this could be the end of the road for Detroit Red Wings prospect Maximilian Kilpinen, who was taken with the 19th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
He was officially released by his Swedish club Modo, signaling a major shakeup in his career. However, he'd been on loan to a pair of teams in the Swedish 3rd division league, Ostersunds IK of Hockey Allsvenskan and Hudiksvalls HC of HockeyEtta.
Modo was recently relegated to the Swedish 2nd division league of Hockey Allsvenskan.
With Ostersunds IK, Kilpinen had a mere 3 points (2G, 1A) in 23 games while registering a pair of assists in 8 games with Hudiksvalls HC.

Could Swedish prospect Axel Sandin-Pellikka be on the Red Wings next year?

Don't be surprised to see one of the most highly regarded defensive prospects within the Red Wings pipeline in years to soon make his debut in North America.
Axel Sandin-Pellikka, who recently earned Junior Player of the Year honours in the Swedish Hockey League, could reportedly soon head overseas to begin his professional career on this side of the globe.
He WILL be the best defenseman on the Detroit Red Wings in 2 years tops. Axel's comps would be Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar.

As a defenseman he has vision to lead breakouts and rushes. With high level speed and puck control. In the offensive zone his vision is on another level on his first assist he draws two defenders creating a clean lane for his teammate. He also has a deadly one-timer as seen on this goal. He also is a physical and a reliable on puck defenseman. This will be the piece that truly propels the Red Wings next year.
