Andrew Copp underwent successful surgery
According to sources, underwent successful surgery to repair his left pectoral tendon. He will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season with an expected recovery time of 4-6 months.
Although Andrew Copp's successful surgery is great news, this is a significant blow for the Detroit Red Wings who are currently in a dog-fight to keep their playoff aspirations alive.
Head coach Todd McLellan has done a fantastic job so far since being hired, but Andrew Copp has always been a stable presence in the Red Wings' core, constantly trusted to play big minutes.
The 30-year-old has only missed one game so far this season. In 56 appearances, he has scored 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points, posting a plus/minus of +4 while averaging 14:42 of ice time. Copp had notched points in four of his past five appearances prior to the injury.
