New insight has unveiled that the Detroit Red Wings have been linked to a New York Islanders defenseman following the organization submitting a substantial trade offer.
The Detroit Red Wings are undoubtedly desperate to make up for their 2024/25 NHL season that concluded in the organization missing out on post season contention for their ninth-year straight.
And luckily for Detroit fans, the Red Wings' general manager, Steve Yzerman, and the front office have already begun playing a major role in nearly every aspect of free agency.
According to several reports last week, the organization is suggested to be pursuing a net-minder, and today, Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now reported the Red Wings have inquired about New York Islanders defenseman,
Noah Dobson.

Today, June 23, 2025, the Detroit Red Wings have been reported to inquire about Dobson, a 25-year old defenseman.
The former Islanders 1st-round (12th overall) pick, Dobson, completed the 2024/25 NHL season with 10 goals, 29 assists, totalling at 39 points within 71 games.
And not only has the Red Wings shown interest, it's been revealed they've submitted a substantial offer.
Duff revealed that the reported offer involving the newly restricted free agent, Dobson, includes
J.T. Compher,
Jonatan Berggren, and draft picks being part of the discussion.
