Ex-Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman has lukewarm reception to "Welcome back" message
Former Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman still appears to be feeling the sting of the stunning summer trade that sent him away from Detroit.
The Detroit Red Wings are attempting to win 8-straight games for the 1st time since their last Stanley Cup-winning season of 2007-08.
But they have some work to do, as they find themselves trailing the San Jose Sharks by a pair of goals after the 1st period of play despite holding a 12-6 advantage in shots.
In the meantime, tonight's game also marks the return of former Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman to Little Caesars Arena for the 1st time since the shocking summer trade that sent him to San Jose along with a 2nd round draft pick in exchange for literally nothing.
The Red Wings posted a brief "welcome back" message to Walman on the jumbotron, though he didn't exactly take a lap around the ice to thank the fans.
In fact, Walman didn't appear too interested in acknowledging the message other than a lukewarm and brief wave.
