Nate Danielson furthers his odds at making the Red Wings with preseason standout performance
In Little Caesars Arena, the Detroit Red Wings took on the Blackhawks in a preseason matchup, which saw prospect Nate Danielson make a clutch play in the front of the net to ultimately secure their 3-2 win.
The play has furthered his odds of making the Detroit Red Wings regular-season lineup.
Danielson has
propelled himself from rookie camp into the main camp, as he remains one of the 51 players left in the lineup.
He's worked on staying relevant in a game that is one of the most difficult to play in all of sports, and would put the Red Wings on the scoreboard with a goal in the 2nd period.
Nate Danielson Scores The Detroit Red Wings' First Goal of the Night
Danielson would score the team's first goal 4:21 into the 2nd period against the Chicago Blackhawks. If Todd McLellan hasn't noticed him yet, he has now, with a clutch play.
The former
1st-round pick of the Detroit Red Wings totals tonight are 1 point, 2 shots on goal, 1 giveaway, 20 shifts, and 12:23 time on ice tonight.
The 9th overall pick in 2023 could be a shoe-in for a spot in the lineup, with a hole in the top six. Danielson has spent the last season in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins, and played 71 games, scoring 39 points (12-27), beginning his professional hockey career with the affiliate of the Red Wings.
He could make the
regular lineup, but first, he'll have to make it through the grind of training camp.
