NHL executives drop concerning revelations about the Detroit Red Wings

Some unnamed NHL executives, choosing to stay anonymous, have dropped some concerning takes on the state of the Red Wings.
The Detroit Red Wings have now missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs for 9 straight years, which is the longest drought in their franchise history.
It's a jarring stat, considering the Red Wings are on the verge of entering their centennial year, having been founded in 1926.
While Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman preached patience from the day he arrived back in town in April 2019, it's understandable that some fans are growing restless with each year that they have to watch other clubs play playoff hockey.
One unnamed Eastern Conference executive had this to say about some of Yzerman's free agency additions:
(They) took the best available (options in trade and free agency) to speed things up - not (waiting for) the best fit.
Another unnamed executive from a Western Conference club had a fair question about Detroit's prospect pool:
They have players coming but how impactful will they be is the real question.
These are the players that Detroit is keeping their hopes for eventual sustained success with - but they'll have to prove they can be impact players at the NHL level first.
If the Red Wings do not make the playoffs next year, don't be surprised to see the restlessness amongst the fans grow more intense.
