Detroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot is a reliable presence in the net, signed by Steve Yzerman to a two-year deal in 2024; he begins the second year in Hockeytown with a new goalie mask that turns heads.

The Detroit Red Wings are beginning their Centennial season in the NHL.
Talbot will be one of two veteran goaltenders in the crease and will begin his second year in Hockeytown donning a new mask.
The veteran netminder has been known for his unique and intricate designs in the past. One of which was a mask inspired by the classic "Ghostbusters" movie, which he wore in Edmonton, known as "Ecto-1".
An iconic tribute to Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Aykroyd.
One of his past masks worn for the Oilers featured glow-in-the-dark details.

Cam Talbot's Tribute to Hockeytown for The Centennial Season

While we should expect Talbot to celebrate the Red Wings' Centennial season with something otherworldly, he has chosen instead to stay minimalistic this season. It retains the iconic look of the wings we all love, with the winged wheel on the side, and the Cougars' logo centered above the mask.
"It was my thinking, I wanted it crisp and clean," Talbot said of the design.
According to Talbot, the mask comes with a matte finish, which gives it a classic feel for the 2025-26 season, as the team celebrates its 100th anniversary.
The mask is turning heads and we have to wait for the great reveal when opening night comes.
Typically, we've seen him go all out for his lid in the NHL, but out of respect for the Original Six organization, he's paying the proper respect to a team that has helped keep the game of hockey in the minds of the world's population.
The veteran goaltender will be donning his Centennial season mask while sharing the crease with John Gibson, the newest arrival in Detroit.
The two once faced each other in the Western Conference Semifinals in 2017, with Gibson in the net for the Ducks and Talbot suiting up for the Oilers. The Oilers would fall in seven games, and since then, Talbot has become a journeyman in the league.
The 38-year-old finished he 2024-25 season with a 2.91 GAA and a .901 save percentage.
