The Detroit Red Wings are 10-7-0- and 4th in the Atlantic Division, and could make a move with these two veteran forwards to improve their lineup.

With the Red Wings' latest 6-3 thrashing of the Anaheim Ducks, the team could look to improve not only their standings but also the team overall.
The team has found a way to play a balanced game and is finding its contributors up and down the lineup.
Forward Michael Rasmussen and defenseman Axel-Sandin Pellikka would score their 2nd-goals of the season.
While Alex DeBrincat scored 3 points (2-1), Dylan Larkin would score 2 points (1-1), and Jonatan Berggren would contribute a surprising two assists.
With their performance opening the eyes of the fans and front office, trade options could be explored for two veteran players according to recent reports.
NHL Insider David Pagnotta says the Red Wings could explore a Copp or Compher trade.

Could the Detroit Red Wings trade Andrew Copp and JT Compher?

The limited contributions from Andrew Copp and JT Compher opened up speculation regarding the Red Wings making a trade for either player.
They could once again tap into the market, as Steve Yzerman did explore moving both players this summer, without success, it seems.
That chatter resurfaced on Wednesday when The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta said on Daily Faceoff's Rundown show that Detroit may once again consider trading the two veterans if the team finds itself on the bubble for a playoff spot.

Copp has a $5.625 million cap hit and has a ten-team no-trade clause attached to his contract, while Compher has a $5.1 million cap hit for the next three years.
Both players have failed to perform up to expectations, as Copp has been a 35 to 40-point player during his career.
While Compher was brought in to be a 50-point player like he was with the Avalanche.
His contract has been an overpay, as he's only his that mark once in Detroit and never reached it again.
A trade with these two veteran players could open up cap space and the ability to replace them with forwards who produce at the same level, with a significantly less cap hit.
The team is said to be exploring options to fulfill the role, with players such as Lawson Crouse of the Utah Mammoth, a tough-as-nails two-way forward, and Jake Evans of the Montreal Canadiens.
