Red Wings double down with desperate ticket offer to fans
With their year winding down and all indications pointing toward not making the postseason (again), the Red Wings are doubling down on a ticket offer.
The Detroit Red Wings are now a full 5 points outside of the playoff picture following back to back disappointing regulation losses to the Washington Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights.
While their chances at the playoffs aren't mathematically impossible at this point, their chances are less than 10% according to the latest betting odds. They would need to not only put together one final lengthy winning streak, but for the other clubs ahead of them in the standings to start losing.
They can help their cause by winning
tonight's game against the Utah Hockey Club in Salt Lake City, their 1st ever trip to the state of Utah for a game; they also hope to get back at them for their 4-2 win at Little Caesars Arena earlier this month.
In the meantime, the Red Wings have 5 remaining games on home ice. In an effort to drum up excitement for the games, Detroit has extended their ticket offer of no fees on ticket purchases for another day.
SALE EXTENDED! Just five regular season home games remain in the 2025 season. Be the difference-maker and a crucial part of the Red Wings' home ice advance with the FIGHT TO THE FINISH sale. Buy tickets now and don't pay any fees as the Red Wings fight to the finish continues. Don't miss your chance. Sale ends Monday, March 24 at 11:59 p.m.
The Red Wings have no choice but to follow the "Fight to the Finish" motto that they're promoting with the no-fee ticket offer.
If they fail to qualify for the postseason, it will mark their 10th straight year of no playoffs - the longest drought in team history. It would also mark the 6th straight year of no playoffs under GM Steve Yzerman, something that not many fans thought would be possible when he returned to the club as GM in April 2019.
