The Detroit Red Wings dodged two season-altering injuries in their 4-3 win in Climate Pledge Arena against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday.
Last night for the Detroit Red Wings, the team came out ahead with a 4-3 win for the team.
This gives them a total of three out of four points at the beginning of their six-game road trip out West. This was after having to deal with two injury scares for key Red Wings players that night.
On Saturday in Climate Pledge Arena, the victory tasted sweeter after the team managed to make it out of the Pacific Northwest by escaping what could've been season-altering injuries.
During the matchup, two Red Wings forwards were taken off the ice before they were allowed to return to the lineup.
Rookie forward Nate Danielson would notch an assist on rookie Emmitt Finnie's first goal in the first period. After scoring his first point of the night, he blocked a shot with his skate and fell to the ice.
The play would be whistled dead, as Danielson couldn't get up on his own, requiring help from his teammates to get to the bench. He would miss a significant number of shifts (several) but would return to the ice.
A Scary incident happens to Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin
Captain Dylan Larkin of the Detroit Red Wings had his own scare during the 2nd period of the night.
Larkin was struck in the face by a puck near the end of the second period of the game. It caused the Red Wings to send him to the locker room for evaluation.
As a result, we were fortunate enough to see Larkin the rest of the game, but he would return to the ice wearing a face shield.
With the win last night, the Red Wings are now 15-11-3 and 3rd in the Atlantic Division. A positive development for a team that Todd McLellan believes isn't a finished product.
This was a positive end to the night for Danielson, who left healthy and scored another point against the Kraken, the same team he scored his first NHL goal on.
