Detroit Red Wings top prospect Max Plante has been on a scorcher, as he's continued his hot scoring streak on Thursday.

Forward Max Plante was selected in the 2nd round by the Red Wings, 47th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft.
The young forward led the Nation in goal scoring just one week ago, and continues to be scortching hot.
This season, he's begun the second year of his collegiate hockey career with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. In 16 games with the team, he's scored 26 points (13-13) in seven games less than his total of 28 points in 23 games in 2024-25.
Fortunately for them, he's been on a heater, evidenced by his goal against Western Michigan University, where he scored a goal on the power-play in the bumper position.
To give you an idea of what a "bumper" does:

Detroit Red Wings prospect Max Plante continues his hot streak in 2025-26

The former 47th overall pick in the 2nd-round of the 2024 NHL draft has given us an idea of what he's capable of, as we see his development and growth continue this season.
While he could be considered "undersized" by many orthodox pundits in the NHL media sphere, at 5-foot-10 and 181 pounds, he's found a great way to add to the offense at the center of the ice on the UMD power-play.
Not everyone can be in the dirty areas of the ice.
Corey Pronman of The Athletic's 2024 NHL Draft rankings gives you a better idea of what we will see from him down the road:
"He's not that big or physical, but Plante gives a good effort and plays with courage. The debate on him will be as a smaller winger if he's dynamic enough offensively and a natural enough scorer to be an NHL middle-six wing."

With the emergence of players like Nick Suzuki, Cole Caulfield, and other players of this frame, Plante shouldn't have an issue finding a role in the Red Wings' middle-six, which is a little parched for scoring right now.
