Red Wings organization makes history with latest all-star announcement

The Detroit Red Wings' AHL (American Hockey League) affiliate team, Grand Rapids Griffins, are set to make history with recent All-Star Classic announcement.
This week, the AHL made an announcement regarding the All-Star Classic that is set to begin in early February.
Revealing that a trio of Grand Rapids Griffins have been selected to participate in this top talent event.
This event showcases the league's top talents, which proves just how much depth and development strength the Detroit Red Wings have within its AHL affiliate team.
The 2026 AHL All-Star Classic presented by BMO will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League: since 1995, more than 94 percent of All-Star Classic participants have gone on to compete in the National Hockey League, including Yaroslav Askarov, Drake Batherson, Jordan Binnington, John Carlson, Brandt Clarke, Lukas Dostal, Dalibor Dvorsky, Ryker Evans, Ethen Frank, Thomas Harley, Connor Hellebuyck, Joel Hofer, Jordan Kyrou, Jonathan Marchessault, Jacob Markstrom, J.T. Miller, Brandon Montour, William Nylander, Kyle Palmieri, Mikko Rantanen, Dylan Strome, Devon Toews, Tyler Toffoli, Linus Ullmark, Dustin Wolf and Mats Zuccarello." Wrote theahl.com

Three Grand Rapids Griffins selected to participate in the 2026 All-Star Classic
On Thursday, the American Hockey League announced that net-minder, Sebastian Cossa, and forwards John Leonard and Dominik Shine have been selected to participate in this year's All-Star Classic.
This event will be held on February 10-11 at the BMO Center in Rockford, Illinois, and will include a skills competition and a 3-on-3 tournament.
