Detroit Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan is getting criticized for a decision involving Dylan Larkin in the 3-2 shootout loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.

The Red Wings had an opportunity to snap their three-game losing streak against the Boston Bruins last night.
Despite scoring a game-tying goal late in the third period and getting a power play in overtime, the Red Wings fell in the shootout after Jeremy Swayman blocked all of the Wings' attempts.
After the game, Todd McLellan and Dylan Larkin shared their thoughts on the loss:
"A tough game to play. For both teams, I think there was a lot of tight-checking and not a lot of loose ice. A heavy game that was, at times, frustrating for both teams. For us to find our game as the night went on was a real positive sign Got some good efforts from some players, and we're going to need more of it." - Todd McLellan

"It was good to get a point. We would have liked to get two, especially with the 4-on-3 in overtime, but we battled. We stood up for each other, stood up for ourselves and I thought it was right there. It was a good battle game. A good game for us to maybe come together, show ourselves that we can play in different ways and, when we're not feeling well offensively, we can still play good defensively." - Dylan Larkin
Today, fans are blaming McLellan for a questionable decision in the shootout.

McLellan Didn't Send the Wings' Top Scorer in Shootout Against Bruins

Lucas Raymond, Patrick Kane, and Alex DeBrincat were all sent by McLellan in the shootout. Although these three players have a lot of skills, fans were surprised to not see Larkin going on the ice for an attempt on Swayman.
Larkin is on pace to have the best season of his career by far, with 29 points, including 14 goals, in 26 games.
"With Dylan Larkin's 2 assists yesterday, he now has a total of 56 multi-assist games as a Red Wing, making him the 12th player in their franchise history for most multi-assist games, passing Marcel Dionne.

To become the 11th (Igor Larionov), he needs 10 more multi-assist games."
