Red Wings Radio Station 97.1 The Ticket didn't hold their words back today when they criticized GM Steve Yzerman's lack of moves during the trade deadline.
The March 7th trade deadline has passed, and yet again
Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has sat on his hands.
He'd weaponize the team cap space to acquire a fourth-round pick in a three-team trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Seattle Kraken as well.
Not to mention putting fan favorite
Christian Fischer on waivers for a rival club, the Columbus Blue Jackets to claim.
What's going on here? Is this the fabled Yzerplan which was famous for building a cup-winning roster in Tampa Bay? It's doubtful at this point.
97.1's The Ticket's Mike Valenti and co-host Rico wouldn't hold back on how terrible the team's moves were.
It looks like it'll be another season where the Red Wings will miss the playoffs yet again, while Steve Yzerman holds all his cards close to the chest, rather than playing the hand dealt to him.
For Valenti putting up with six years without a playoff series under Steve Yzerman is a problem for him, and should be for Red Wings fans everywhere.
The team has notoriously underachieved this year, and let's not beat around the bush the roster is poorly constructed.
Despite the fact, it is top-heavy in versatile, and skillful forwards in the top-six of the lineup.
The Red Wings are 6th in a tough
Atlantic Division with a record of 30-27-6 and show no signs of improving after the last 5-game slump.
