The Griffins will not advance to the Western Conference finals
The Grand Rapids Griffins' hopes for the playoffs came to an end on Sunday. They lost 2-0 to the Milwaukee Admirals in a crucial fifth game in Milwaukee, finishing the series 3-2 in favor of the Admirals and missing out on the Western Conference final.
Things went south when Zach L'Heureux scored a quick goal without Milwaukee having an extra player, and Ryan Ufko later secured the win with another goal. The Griffins had a heroic game just two days before, where Jonatan Berggren scored three goals in a flash, but on Sunday, they just couldn't score, missing all their chances when they had more players on the ice.
Milwaukee's goalie, Troy Grosenick, stopped every shot, keeping the Griffins from scoring. Even though the Griffins' goalie, Sebastian Cossa, tried hard and saved 34 shots, it wasn't enough. The loss was tough, but it showed the team's spirit and what they could aim for next season.
