On Dec 18, he suffered a lower-body injury vs. the Anaheim Ducks. In April, he went to the AHL rehab assignment, but unfortunately he re-injured himself during the warmup. As he's 73rd overall in save percentage in the NHL (.892) and 83rd in the league for GAA (3.55), he's a liability even when on the ice.
With $4.75 millions remaining on his contract for one season, the Red Wings might need to think about trading him and obtain someone less injury prone in the future. However, the problem is with his poor performance and recent injuries, will there even be a market for a goaltender like Husso.
Now, if we assume they deal him, this creates a new problem, as the Wings will need a capable goalie. Knowing that this position is hard to fulfill, the Red Wings have to come up with a solution to this dilemma.
