Trade Proposal: Red Wings Acquire Controversial Power-Forward From The Edmonton Oilers

The Detroit Red Wings need to think outside of the box when it comes to acquiring talent this offseason. They will need to upgrade throughout the lineup, including the top-six and goaltending.
One player alone won't solve these issues, but they can be a good fix. That player in the top six would be
Evander Kane.
Kane's been a controversial figure for some time now and has found himself on a Stanley Cup-contending roster the past few seasons in Edmonton. He's provided an edge for an Oilers team that didn't necessarily have a mean streak until he and
Corey Perry arrived.
Now the Red Wings could find a way to retool the top-six, add some grit, but the cost might be a prospect.
The Oilers could give Jonatan Berggren a fresh start in the NHL and develop him in their system as they see fit. It isn't working out here in Detroit, and place him under the mentorship of
Leon Draisaitl and
Connor McDavid.
While the Red Wings acquire a $20.5 million forward, and for all intents and purposes, a rental in Evander Kane, unless Steve Yzerman is compelled to sign him.
Despite past injury issues, Kane has proven himself to be a problem on the ice for the Oilers, creating space for plays, scoring goals, and being an agitator who isn't afraid of throwing down the gloves.
This season in 21 playoff games with the Oilers, he scored 12 points (6-6), and could be a factor in the Red Wings' lineup when the team needs it the most: April and up until June if they're lucky to make it there.
