Wild NHL trade deadline rumor suggests the Red Wings will part ways with two star forwards

Today is the day! With just a few hours until the NHL Trade Deadline hits, the countdown has created many trade rumours regarding all areas of the NHL, but one specific post was released this morning suggesting names in Detroit many of us haven't expected to be brought up for this trade deadline.

A Detroit Red Wings fan, Fredi, revealed his insight for the Wings' trade deadline plans, expressing the organization should make big adjustments to their lineup today.

Fredi expresses that Dylan Larkin is beginning to resemble a former Detroit Lions quarterback, Matthew Stafford; great performance individually but little to no team success to show for it.

Larkin has been the face of the Detroit Red Wings for quite sometime now, he was drafted in 2014 as15th overall, and solidified great numbers thus far into the season, currently standing with 12 goals, 12 assists in 30 games thus far, a 56.6% faceoff win percentage, and over 20 minutes of ice time per game.

However, the Red Wings remain mediocre, becoming comparable to the Stafford-era Lions before their QB was traded, that concluded in him winning a Super Bowl.

Patrick Kane, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. He's already proven himself as a winner, being a three-time Stanley Cup Champion and continuously showing up offensively, Kane brings a lot of skill. However, it has been noted Kane might not fit in the Red Wings' long-term plans.

Despite these players showing up with impeccable skills, their salary clearing up cap space might just be worth it for the GM Steve Yzerman in continuing his journey towards the organizations long-term plans.
