Awful update on Red Wings rookie Carter Mazur in his NHL debut

A terrible update has been given on Red Wings rookie forward Carter Mazur, who was making his NHL debut tonight in front of hundreds of family and friends in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena.
The Detroit Red Wings were excited to have young forward Carter Mazur make his National Hockey League debut during tonight's game against the Utah Hockey Club at Little Caesars Arena.
However, his debut may have already come to a close before the 1st period ended.
Mazer was hurt and awkwardly made his way to the bench in pain, and departed down the tunnel toward the team dressing room.
Right now, no official update has been given on his condition for the remainder of the contest, but it's possible that his night could be over prematurely.
UPDATE: The unfortunate news has been confirmed - Mazur will not return.
Mazur, who grew up a Red Wings fan and wears sweater No. 43 in honor of his favourite former player Darren Helm,
was psyched for his debut and had hundreds of family and friends in the crowd to take it in.
My dad knows enough people who are his friends, and (Mom) spread the news, too; I think everyone knows. They've been part of the journey. I'm going to have 200 to 300 friends and family, and it's going to be pretty exciting.
What did Mazur hope to bring to the lineup?
I see a little bit of the speed and penalty killing (from Helm' game in Mazur), but I want to be my own player here. I want to make my own name for sure, and be Carter Mazur.
I love the battle. Detroit is a gritty city, too, and that's something I can add to this team, add my game and hopefully contribute the way I can, and hopefully the wins will come.
Injury update on Carter Mazur
Let's hope that Mazur isn't seriously injured, especially making his NHL debut for his favourite childhood team.
