The Exact Price The Detroit Red Wings Would Need To Pay To Get Mitch Marner Emerges

The exact price that would have to be paid by the Detroit Red Wings organization to get Mitch Marner on free agency was revealed.
Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Florida Panthers last night in what was possibly Marner's final game as a Leaf.
Set to become a free agent, nothing indicates that the organization will be in a position to sign him to an extension this summer, and many rumors state that he could leave the team that drafted him back in 2015.
According to a new report, the Detroit Red Wings could be in the mix.
Indeed, Steve Yzerman was clear in his exit interview when he revealed that the team is finally ready to pay a big price to land a good player that would help the organization compete for a Stanley Cup every year:
"We're prepared to use our draft picks, we're prepared to use our prospects, we're prepared to use any player, for that matter, in a trade that makes us better and helps us in our timeline to get better and ultimately be a team that not only makes the playoffs but competes for a Stanley Cup."
"We've kind of felt that all along, we're going to look at any good player - any player that can help us in any role - if there's a player worthy of spending whatever amount on, that has an interest in playing in Detroit and fits a need for us, absolutely we would try to do that. We're in a different stage than we were maybe five years ago in that we have a good young nucleus of players. And if we can add to that with a prominent free agent, we'd certainly entertain that."

Many more teams could be interested in Marner, but not all of them will have the money to get him.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, Marner will sign a seven-year contract valued at $13M AAV.
