RFA Mason McTavish begins practicing with new organization as he avoids Anaheim Ducks training camp
Anaheim Ducks restricted free agent forward Mason McTavish has refused to show up to Anaheim's training camp as he's currently without a contract, and he's now been spotted with a totally different organization to prepare for the upcoming NHL season.
Detroit Red Wings fans have witnessed each and every possible report linking the former 3rd overall pick Mason McTavish to their organization this offseason, considering the great relationship between general managers Steve Yzerman and Pat Verbeek.
The 22-year-old forward has shown great promise early onto his NHL career, coming off of a 52-point season which marked a career high. Great for McTavish, but also challenging for the Ducks, as it was his final contract year.
Now that a large payday is in need by McTavish's camp from the Anaheim Ducks, distance has grown between the two.
Without a contract in place for the upcoming season, despite preseason puck drop in just 4 days time, McTavish has taken it into his own hands to prepare for the upcoming season with a totally different hockey organization.
