The Original-Six hockey team, the Detroit Red Wings, will have 5 must-watch games this year, as the team battles against the rival Chicago Blackhawks, and expansion misfits, the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Detroit Red Wings will be celebrating their Centennial season this year, after 100 years in the NHL. With their birth during the 1926 season, they'd never have expected the amount of star power that would come through Hockeytown since then.
But this season is no different, as the Yzerman-led Red Wings will have an axe to grind, as they want to put themselves into playoff contention.
That means being difficult to play against and utilizing all of their firepower on the ice every night.
There will be 5 matchups this season where Red Wings fans should take note, with the team clashing in an original-six bout against the Chicago Blackhawks.

5 Red Wings Dates To Lookout For:

Dates when the team faces the Blackhawks & Connor Bedard:
September 23rd (Little Caesar's Arena) & 30th (United Center), December 13th (United Center).
It'll be legendary superstar Patrick Kane facing off against the rebuilding Blackhawks and Connor Bedard which should prove to be a competitive matchup each time they meet.
They'll be facing off against the Vegas Golden Knights and Mitch Marner this year as well:
November 4th (T-Mobile Arena) & March 4th (Little Caesar's Arena)
The Red Wings should come into 2025-26 with a vengeance if they want to improve upon their dismal performance last season, while Derek Lalonde was the bench boss the majority of the year.
Under Todd McLellan, they changed their game around and turned a corner, but not soon enough to make the playoffs.
These pivotal matchups against their rivals should provide enough juice in the tank to keep the engines moving forward towards consistent victories.
The team finished 39-35-8 in the Atlantic Division, just shy of a Wildcard playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
