The Chicago Blackhawks made a major announcement involving the Detroit Red Wings and their preseason schedule.

In an official release, the Blackhawks confirmed their full preseason schedule for the 2025-26 season, which includes games against the Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues.
The two teams will face off in Detroit on September 23, before meeting again in Chicago on September 30.
Here's the complete preseason schedule as announced by the Blackhawks:
"The Chicago Blackhawks today announced the team's 2025-26 preseason schedule, presented by Circa Sports, with tickets starting at $20* on sale now through Ticketmaster. Chicago will play the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues in six total games, with one home and one road matchup against each city:

Sept 23 at Detroit
Sept 27 at St. Louis
Sept 28 at Minnesota
Sept 30 vs Detroit
Oct 3 vs Minnesota
Oct 4 vs St. Louis"
Even though it's just preseason, there's plenty to be excited about in Detroit. The Wings' full young core may not be in the lineup for all these games, but other prospects will be in the spotlight and could cause a surprise in the preseason, such as Marco Kasper and Nate Danielson.
With Dylan Larkin leading the charge down the middle, Detroit's top six is shaping up to be dangerous, and these preseason games will give fans an early look at how their revamped lines could look.
Fans should also get to see the first games of newly acquired veterans Vladimir Tarasenko and James van Riemsdyk.
Meanwhile, for the Blackhawks, it'll be about testing out different combinations and seeing how they respond on the ice against another team filled with players with something to prove.
