While the excitement of a line brawl between both the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers electrified the crowds, comedian Jeff Garlin got to see behind the curtain after all was said and done.

The line brawl between the Rangers and the Red Wings is one event we'll never be able to live down this season, as Mason Appleton's shot on an empty net led to chaos on the ice.
After the Red Wings' 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Madison Square Garden ice, the team had an unexpected visitor in comedian Jeff Garlin.
Garlin, a cast member of Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Goldbergs, and Arrested Development, wanted to experience the infectious feeling of a win in the historic arena of the Rangers.
Garlin would join the scrum behind the scenes, as Moritz Seider would be interviewed by the media postgame.
Garlin was asked about trying to get in on the action postgame by the media, as the brawl that ensued took over the storylines of the game, thanks to Mason Appleton.
«I was trying to get over the glass to join the scrum,» Garlin joked. «I'm a scrummer.»

He poked fun at the youth of Seider, age 24, saying that he's been «scrumming» for a long time.

«I've been scrumming before you were born. I'm a scrummer, that's right.»

The Detroit Red Wings Pull Off an Amazing Victory Against the New York Rangers on Sunday

The Red Wings managed to put 42 shots on goal and battled to the end, with Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat being the only goal scorers for the night.
They were privileged to have comedian Jeff Garlin present in the locker room to provide antics behind the scenes.
He's a native Chicagoan who happens to be a Detroit Red Wings fan. Though his characters on TV aren't so selective in their choices:
A native Chicagoan, he's a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. In The Goldbergs, with the show set in Philadelphia, his character, Murray Goldberg, is an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan.

The Red Wings are 11-7-1 and 2nd in the Atlantic Division after last night.
