The Detroit Red Wings will be selecting 13th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, and WHL forward, Carter Bear of the Everett Silvertips, could be a perfect fit.

The 2025 NHL isn't far away, as mock drafts proliferate over the internet, it's easy to get lost in the sauce. Instead of educating yourself about players, you're memorizing names, and if you follow certain pundits, you'll eagerly await their predictions to come true.
However, one WHL Insider has linked Carter Bear to the Detroit Red Wings, who will be drafting 13th overall in this year's draft.
The 18-year-old Silvertips forward recently ended an 82-point campaign in the WHL, and was unfortunately ended early due to an Achilles injury.
Even with 12 games remaining, he was posting 1.46 PPG in the WHL, which, if he didn't have a season-ending injury, could've been a 100-point year.
WHL Insider Dawson Petryshen feels that Bear's game is what will separate him from the rest of the prospects available.
"I can vouch for what others have said in that he's a hard working forward that's more often than not in the right place, and will make a much more positive impact when he's on the ice."

Bear's vision on the ice and playmaking abilities would be a perfect fit for the Red Wings' offense, which has lacked this kind of player as of late.
Petryshen could end up finding himself as a middle-six option for the Red Wings in the future. Which could be just what the team needs, as he's a playmaking forward who is a checker, and could provide some muscle on the PK.
An all-around Swiss-Army knife style of hockey player, which GMs love.
Bear's versatility would allow him to play with players like Andrew Copp or Lucas Raymond in order to expand the depth of his game and grow offensively, especially with Raymond.
He could develop into a 50-60 point player in the NHL, especially with his speed and high hockey IQ. While concerns remain about his health after his Achilles injury he still projects to be a future NHLer with a high ceiling.
