The Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider has come out with an encouraging statement for GM Steve Yzerman and Red Wings fans in Little Caesar's Arena.

For the Detroit Red Wings, the 2024-25 season was a massive disappointment. They'd lost their feet in the race for a Wild Card spot in the playoffs to the Montreal Canadiens.
Moritz Seider has an idea for improvement of himself and his team through one word: consistency.
Seider would play 82 games for the Red Wings this season on the top-pair, scoring 46 points (8-38), adding 162 shots, 212 hits, and an ATOI of 25:04.
«That's why we all work hard in the summer, to get in that position to earn those tough minutes. Obviously, we need to be trusted. That's the message that was sent from Todd. You want to go out there, do everything right and play against the best in the world on a consistent basis.

Seider would lead the Red Wings' power-play, quarterbacking the 1st-unit and would be successful, with a 27% power-play percentage, good enough for fourth in the NHL.
For the Red Wings to continue to grow as a team during their rebuild, he'll have to build on his 328 games played as an NHLer. He debuted on October 4th, 2021, against the Tampa Bay Lightning,
Seider was a former 6th overall pick in 2019, much to everyone's surprise, and has since worked at proving everyone wrong, and has always focused on improvement.
If it's always that easy, then I think nobody would make mistakes. Overall, I can be happy with the season. In the D-zone, there are still some things to improve - try not to think ahead too much, try not to cheat the game, play honest, stay underneath people. Just really be a dominant force out there against the top lines.»

Seider echoes the statement of many NHL coaches, who want their team to be difficult to play against. While the Red Wings would mess with different pairs this season with many moving pieces in and out of the lineup, Seider would be the only mainstay.
He'd continue his 2025 campaign as headed to the IIHF World Championships this season as the Captain of Germany.
With hope, his postseason play will help to add another dimension to his game in the NHL.
For Moritz Seider, self-improvement is a continuous goal.
