The NHL has officially suspended Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brandon Hagel for an incident in Game 2 on Thursday night, which would ultimately lead to the injury of Aleksander Barkov.

George Parros and the NHL Department of Player Safety issued a statement Friday morning, revealing that Brandon Hagel would indeed be receiving a review for this hit laid on Panthers captain Barkov on Thursday night:
Brandon Hagel will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday. The Tampa Bay Lightning forward is facing discipline for interference against Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov on Thursday. The incident occurred at 9:51 of the third period in the Lightning's 2-0 loss in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference First Round at Amalie Arena in Tampa. Barkov left the game following the hit, for which Hagel was assessed a major penalty.
The DOP's wrote
The hit has certainly set the Panthers back despite their 2-0 lead in the best of seven series, and he is now in question to be able to partake in Game 3.
One thing is for certain though, and that is Hagel will not be able to play in the next game due to the NHL's suspension announced moments ago.
Do you think this is a proper punishment?
