The Red Wings have announced another coaching change to their staff with the departure of goaltending coach Alex Westlund, who was a holdover from Derek Lalonde.
The Red Wings are reportedly parting ways with goaltending coach Alex Westlund, who was a holdover from former head coach Derek Lalonde (who was let go in late December by GM Steve Yzerman).

Don't know about any other changes to Todd McClellan's staff, but have been told the Red Wings will have a new goalie coach and have parted ways with Alex Westlund.
Westlund just wrapped up his 3rd year on the job in Detroit; he first arrived with Lalonde going into 2022-23. During his time with the Red Wings, he oversaw goaltenders like Ville Husso, Alex Nedeljkovic, Alex Lyon, Cam Talbot, James Reimer, and Petr Mrazek.
It's not easy carrying three (goalies) and for them, it's probably not what they wanted because they all want to play. But they built relationships and pushed each other on the ice. From a higher perspective, that's one of the most important things you could ask for. If they're not all pulling the same direction, it becomes a lot harder to succeed.
The Red Wings made the necessary coaching change on December 26, terminating Lalonde and assistant Bob Boughner while bringing Todd McLellan back to the organization along with his longtime assistant Trent Yawney.
