Canadian team reportedly interested in acquiring Dylan Larkin from the Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings and Dylan Larkin's future are intrinsically tied together, for the next 6 years at $8.7 million AAV. However, due to the nature of his exit interview with the Detroit media, some are speculating that the long-time Red Wings Captain could be trade bait.

The Canadian team? The Vancouver Canucks.

GM Patrik Allvin needs to add some depth down the center, considering their recent loss of JT Miller, and with an injured Filip Chytil, they need help.

With the lack of meaningful pieces added during the trade deadline, and his frustration breaking through, could he be traded?

He could be the elite answer down the middle, as the last four-seasons the speedy center has scored 60+ points each year.

Larkin is known for his goal-scoring touch, as the Red Wings Captain himself scored 30 goals, and 70 points on the top-line in Detroit.

While he hasn't played much playoff hockey since his rookie season in the NHL in 2016, he's capable of playing fierce, competitive hockey as we've seen during the Four Nations Face-Off.

He scored a total of 7 points in five games with Team USA and held his own with some of the best in the NHL during the tournament.

What could the Red Wings fetch in return for the Captain? Well first off all GM Patrik Allvin, and Quinn Hughes, a Michigan alumnus would have to figure out how to convince him to waive his no-trade clause.

Canucks Army believes that GM Steve Yzerman could be convinced to trade Larkin, a 10-year Red Wings veteran and Michigan native, for defenseman Elias Pettersson, or Tom Willander.

The deal would also involve a center prospect like Aatu Raty, and a 2026 1st-round pick attached with either Willander or Pettersson.
