Detroit Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon's next team revealed by analyst

Detroit Red Wings pending UFA goaltender Alex Lyon is most likely not coming back for a 3rd season with the club, and his potential next destination has been leaked.
The Red Wings have no shortage of goaltenders, as they have both Cam Talbot and Petr Mrazek under contract for next season, along with highly-touted prospects Sebastian Cossa and Trey Augustine in the pipeline.
They've also been linked to Swedish goaltender Arvid Holm, who could soon be joining the organization for added depth.
Right now, it looks like Alex Lyon is the odd-man out for the Red Wings; he's spent the last 2 years with the team after signing as a free agent in 2023 not long after he backed up Sergei Bobrovsky with the divisional foe Florida Panthers.
While the door hasn't completely closed on a new contract for Lyon in Detroit, all indications point toward the team closing that chapter and allowing him to seek other opportunities.
One potential destination for him has been leaked by Hannah Kirkell of Vegas Hockey Now, who believes that Lyon would make a good backup for starter Adin Hill with the Vegas Golden Knights.
If the Golden Knights fill their backup vacancy in Free Agency, Alex Lyon seems like a safe bet. In the spring of 2023, Lyon got the Florida Panthers to the playoffs. Sergei Bobrovsky took over the net during the first round, but they marched to the Stanley Cup Final before falling to the Golden Knights in five games.
Lyon went 14-9-1 this year in Detroit with a 2.81 GAA, a .896 SV% and a single shutout.
