Detroit Red Wings goaltender makes his intentions with the franchise clear during latest interview

Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot has broken his silence for the 1st time since Detroit's season ended without a playoff spot.
Red Wings goaltender Cameron Talbot is coming off his 1st year playing in Detroit, having signed a 2-year contract with the club last summer after a stint with the Los Angeles Kings.
Playing mostly in a starter's role, he went 21-19-5 with a 2.93 GAA, a .901 SV% and also picked up a pair of shutouts.
He spoke for the 1st time since Detroit's season came to a close without a playoff spot for what is now the longest drought in team history.
I just think we have to be a little bit more consistent obviously, I feel like even after Christmas we go on a 7 game win streak, you lose, you go into another 7 game win streak, then we lost 5 or 6 in March there, so if we can cut out the streakiness, I feel like that's where we can really grow.
Talbot and the Red Wings did go on a pair of separate 7 game winning streaks shortly after coach Todd McLellan was hired by GM Steve Yzerman (along with assistant coach Trent Yawney) after both Derek Lalonde and Bob Boughner were let go.
But much in the same fashion as last year, the Red Wings struggled to put together wins in the month of March and it would go a long way in sealing their demise of missing the playoffs once again.
Talbot is expected to start next season as Detroit's starter along with Petr Mrazek, who should battle for ice time. Both goalies are under contract through 2026, while Alex Lyon isn't expected to return for a 3rd season.
