Detroit Red Wings Goaltending Prospect Rudy Guimond Improves to 19-0-0 Record On The Season

A Detroit Red Wings goaltender is making waves in the hockey world for his incredible record of 19-0-0 throughout the regular season and now leading the Moncton Wildcats into the QMJHL playoffs.
The Detroit Red Wings might have gotten the best steal of the 2023 NHL draft in the seventh round with goaltender Rudy Guimond.
Picked 169th overal in 2023l, Guimond is breaking records this season in the Juniors, winning all 19 of his games started in goal with the Moncton Wildcats in the QMJHL (Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League).
Guimond recently stopped 29 shots to help his Wildcats beat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in Game 2 of the QMJHL playoffs.
He is now holding a 19-0-0 record for the regular and postseason.
Guimond started the year playing for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the U.S before transitioning to Canadian Junior Hockey.
Last year, the Red Wings scored big in the seventh round, also selecting forward Emmitt Finnie, who impressed so well in development camp that they signed him and gave him three games with the Grand Rapids Griffins for a quick stint.
Sadly for Detroit Red Wings fans, Guimond's arrival is only set to come in a few years as he has committed to play with Yale next, but he is expected to be the goaltender of the organization's future.
While Steve Yzerman hasn't gotten the Red Wings to the postseason, success, he has certainly lined them up for a promising future with goaltender Sebastien Cossa, and now Rudy Guimond showing up big with large promise.
