Detroit Red Wings officially announce signing of 28-year old former who was a former team captain

The Toledo Walleye, who are the ECHL affiliate of the Red Wings, have announced a contract extension for assistant captain Sam Craggs.
They may not get as much attention, but players in the ECHL, which is one level below the AHL, have just as big dreams to play in the NHL one day.
The Toledo Walleye, who are the ECHL affiliate of the Red Wings, have announced a contract extension for Sam Craggs, which will be his 5th year with the club.
Craggs was Toledo's 4th leading scorer in 2024-25 with 47 points (21G, 26A).
After playing for both the Youngstown Phantoms and the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL, Craggs would play 5 years at Bowling Green State University.
His best year with the Walleye to date was 2023-24, scoring 56 points (28G, 28A) in 70 games.
Red Wings introduce new 100th anniversary logo
The Red Wings, who are gearing up to play their centennial year, introduced a new, special logo that will be prominent all season long.
Team owner Chris Ilitch released the following statement to commemorate the occasion:

Red Wings fans have also been given the chance to vote on the new center ice logo that will be painted at Little Caesars Arena for this year.
