Detroit Red Wings one of several NHL teams hoping to sign Czech goaltender

Steve Yzerman is hoping to add to the Detroit Red Wings' goaltending depth, as Petr Mrazek can't be the sole player in Detroit to rely on; he sets his sights on Czechia and the idea of signing goalie Michal Postava.
GM Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings need help in the crease. With the possibility of Alex Lyon exiting the organization, they need to find someone soon.
Petr Mrazek is the goalie the team would trade for during the trade deadline, as they sent center Joe Veleno in return. Even with Cam Talbot and Mrazek guarding the crease, the current situation in Detroit is harrowing:
«Overall I think as a team our save percentage was near the bottom third of the league, 22nd or somewhere rough in there.»
Mrazek, who'd held down the crease in Chicago for so long, will need a backup without Lyon present, and that could come in the form of Michael Postava.
He could be the one who could save the team from another dismal performance, as they had a team save percentage of .889 in the NHL, again good enough for 22nd in the league.
The Red Wings are fixing their gaze on Europe to bolster the group in the net. That "savior" could be in the Czech Extraliga at the moment, in Postava.
«He is a specific goalkeeper, he goes out a lot and can make players uneasy. At first you wonder how much space he has offered you and suddenly he is there. He is a great goalkeeper and he covers a lot just by standing in goal. He doesn't have to make any major saves.»
In his first season with the Extraliga's Kometa Brno, he helped the team win the championship. His opponents speak highly of his game.
Postava would make a 21-save shutout in Game 7 in the championship series and would conclude the playoffs with a .940 save percentage.
Competition for Postava will be fierce, as Yzerman will be competing with the Utah Mammoth, Seattle Kraken, and Edmonton Oilers for the Czech goalie.
