The St. Louis Blues made a massive announcement regarding their best player so far this season, ahead of their matchup against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.

The Detroit Red Wings will face the St. Louis Blues tonight for the first game of a five-game road trip that'll take the team to Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose, and Las Vegas.
Starting such a big trip with a win is crucial for momentum and to keep confidence high during that week away from home.
"This is a big road trip. It's great. It's an exciting road trip I hope there's some energy from [fans on the road] with our start. A lot of them show up like they normally do I hope there's excitement from our young guys and our group to go out and play on the road on this trip.

I think the start of a trip is huge. So, [on Tuesday] in St. Louis, especially how the game went on Saturday against them, they're going to be coming for us. It's going to set the tone for the trip. I hope we can be ready to respond and be ready to go."

Ahead of that crucial game, the Blues announced that they'll be without their best scorer of the season so far.

St. Louis Blues Announce Long-Term Injury to Jake Neighbours

The Blues will look to bounce back from Saturday night's 6-4 loss to the Red Wings and stop their losing streak to four, tonight.
However, they will have to do so without Jake Neighbours.
Indeed, the organization revealed that Neighbours will be away from the lineup for at least five weeks with a lower-body injury that occurred in the game against the Wings.
Neighbours, 23, is tied with Kordan Kyrou at the top of the Blues' scorers rankings, with seven points, including six goals, in eight games.
As for the Wings, they will still be without Patrick Kane, who hasn't traveled with the team.
