According to a report from Daniella Bruce, Detroit Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan expects Patrick Kane to miss another game.

The Red Wings take on the St. Louis Blues today on the 28th. The team has held on to it's top spot in the Atlantic Division with a 6-3-0 record in the NHL.
It's important that the team continue to hold to its standards while key pieces in the lineup are out.
One of those players is Patrick Kane, who has been out of the lineup since October 17th when he collided with the boards.
The win would be pyrrhic, as the team lost a 59-point forward, all while winning 2-1 in OT with their divisional rivals.
Todd McLellan's update isn't great for a team that needs to stay at the top to earn a playoff spot this year for the "Yzerplan" to be successful.
Kane won't be traveling with the team on their next road trip as he's still recovering from his upper-body injury:
"Future Hall-Of-Famer Patrick Kane won't travel with the Detroit Red Wings for the start of their upcoming five-game road-trip, but could join the team partway through, head coach Todd McLellan told broadcast reporter Daniella Bruce."

In his absence, the team has deployed Lucas Raymond on the 2nd line, while Mason Appleton has been a fixture on the team's first line.

The Detroit Red Wings Miss Patrick Kane

Kane has been a reliable contributor since he arrived in 2023. In his first season here, he scored 47 points (20-27) in only 50 games.
This season, he'd only play 5 games and score 5 points (2-3) as a point-per-game player.
Kane's line typically outshoots their opponents 51-37, but the offense has been struggling in his absence as the team has been outscored two to three.
An underlying statistic that should be making someone like Todd McLellan nervous while Kane is nursing himself back to health.
He signed a one-year $3 million deal with the Red Wings during the offseason.
