Golden Knights' Ilya Samsonov to conceivably receive punishment from NHL after cheapshot on Michael Rasmussen
The Detroit Red Wings and Vegas Golden Knights game is getting heated as the NHL is obviously playing favorites with the Knights again.
During the 2nd period of the game against the Vegas Golden Knights, it was getting heated as the game was scoreless at 17:16 into the period.
The Red Wings would try and crash the net to see if they could open up the scoring on the Bruce Cassidy-led Golden Knights.
The play would end as #14 defenseman Nicholas Hague would push Rasmussen into Ilya Samsonov, which caused him to act in retaliation.
Samsonov would hit him with a blocker chop after the fact.
Instead of holding his own teammate accountable, Samsonov would stoke the fires of rage in front of the net.
And once again the NHL zebras are proving that they need prescriptions for glasses, giving Michael Rasmussen for a "play" like that.
Rasmussen would be handed a goalie interference penalty, while
Keegan Kolesar would serve Samsonov's penalty for roughing.
Michael Rasmussen is a gritty forward who provides depth scoring on a Red Wings lineup that needs all the help they can get.
Removing him from play for two minutes gives the Vegas Golden Knights an edge that they don't need.
This Red Wings game is getting intense as the team is trying to hold their own against the Knights who are Stanley Cup contenders in the NHL once again this season.
Can Todd McLellan and Moose use this as a pivot point to change the momentum in the game against the Knights?
