Hockey fan reveals life-changing turn of events caused by wearing Detroit Red Wings shirt to Survivor audition

Eva Erickson is a hockey fan that had her acting career take a major turn recently, all by wearing a Detroit Red Wings t-shirt when she went to audition to earn a role on the popular CBS show Survivor.
Erickson stepped in front of Survivor executives, producers, and even the host of the show, Jeff Probst, donning the Winged Wheel on her red shirt that she had in her hockey collection.
Little did she know, it would earn her a role on the show that hundreds of thousands audition for each year.
«I collect vintage NHL shirts, so my casting director asked me to send a few options before the final interview,» Erickson recalled in a recent behind-the-scenes interview. «Out of all of them, she said, 'Wear the Red Wings shirt.' I'm not a Red Wings fan but I said, sure.»
We surely did not expect what she said happened next!
«When I walked into the room in L.A., the producers, editors, and even Jeff Probst were there. The second they saw me, they just erupted. 'Oh my God, are you a Red Wings fan?!'» she said with a laugh. «I wasn't, but it was the perfect transition into talking about hockey.»
The 24-year-old female hockey fan grew her love for the game by playing it herself at the college level. Born in Eagan, Minnesota, her extensive background in hockey aligned with one of the producers, who played hockey for Edina High School, which is quite well known in the Minnesota hockey scene.
«As someone from Minnesota, I had to chirp him about it,» Erickson said.
She admitted that she roasted the producer a ton due to his school background, as it was her rival school throughout her own career.
The roasting came with her showcasing her true personality which ultimately led to her earning a role on Survivor.
«I owe that Red Wings shirt a thank you,» Erickson joked. «It helped start the conversation that helped me show my personality.»
Erickson is also the first autistic Survivor member to reach the final three in history!
