The Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is much more than just a goal scorer for Detroit as he has proven to be an incredible leader as well.
Larkin is the longest tenured Red Wings as he was drafted in 2014 and is the only player to have made the playoffs with them back in 2016.
The Red Wings captain recently spoke about the team's future and the dissapointing season Detroit just had.
«I think we're much closer than we have been in my career,» Larkin said in his end-of-season media session. «We missed the playoffs this year and I would love nothing more than to win a championship, but we have to get in the playoffs. I asked for meaningful games in April, and we got that. We came up short, but now it's about how we get in.»
«For me, probably one of the best and hardest experiences in my career," Larkin said about this season. «It sucks that there was no reward, but it was a great experience to find out a lot about myself and our team.»
Everyone in Detroit is excited for the 2024-25 season as the Red Wings have a very promising future with plenty of young talent and a hungry leader in Larkin. Even if next season doesn't go according to plan, there is no doubt Detroit has a bright future.
