The Pittsburgh Penguins will be joining the Detroit Red Wings on the outskirts of this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, however, the Penguins' Kris Letang began his offseason a little early, as it has been revealed the veteran underwent a heart surgery.

This morning, Wednesday, April 16, the President of Hockey Operations and the Pittsburgh Penguins' General Manager, Kyle Dubas, announced that Letang underwent a successful surgery for his heart.
Take a look:
«Letang had successful closure of a patent foramen ovale (PFO; small hole in the heart). The procedure was performed at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital by interventional cardiologist Dr. Conrad Smith.

The expected recovery time is four to six weeks.»
Throughout the 37-year olds NHL career thus far, the veteran defenseman has unfortunately endured two strokes, and now, a heart surgery.
Despite the horrible circumstances, the veteran never fails to amaze the National Hockey League, with a total of 1,161 games played, the defenseman stands at 175 goals and 597 assists, totalling at a whopping 772 points and a plus/minus or +85, and luckily, the veteran is expected to appear back in the lineup following his recovery.
Kris Letang is clearly unstoppable and we wish him a very quick recovery.
