Mitch Marner has just made a decision on joining the Detroit Red Wings

Pending Toronto Maple Leafs UFA forward Mitch Marner has apparently decided about his chances of playing for the Red Wings, and Detroit fans may not like it.
He's arguably the highest profile UFA to hit the open market in years, and the Detroit Red Wings have been linked to him - but does he have interest in coming to Detroit?
Pending Toronto Maple Leafs UFA forward Mitch Marner has been linked to a handful of NHL clubs, including the Red Wings.
But it doesn't look like Detroit's chances of realistically signing Marner are very good per the latest reports that surfaced earlier today.
During today's episode of TSN's Over Drive, NHL analyst Pierre LeBrun joined hosts Bryan Hayes, Jeff O'Neill and Jamie McLennan to discuss Marner's intentions in free agency.
O'Neill, a former Leafs forward, said he thinks that even though Detroit could make Marner a considerable offer, he likely won't sign there.
Detroit could offer him a boatload of money, but will he go to Detroit? Highly unlikely, man. Highly unlikely.
LeBrun then interjected by saying that both the Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets could offer a major contract to Marner but that they likely aren't on his final list of teams he'd consider joining.
That's the thing, I think a lot of teams want to get in on him, I think Detroit is one of them. The Columbus Blue Jackets have the most salary cap in the League, I know they'd love to throw a boatload at Mitch Marner.
It looks like Steve Yzerman will have to consider different options to help boost Detroit's offense next season.
