Oilers make surprising lineup move moments before facing the Red Wings Sunday

Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings are set to face Connor McDavid, former Wing , and the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena.

Shortly before the game, the Oilers announced an official lineup change that surprised fans.

The Edmonton Oilers lost their last two straight games against the New Jersey Devils and the New York Islanders. The team will look to bounce back against the Red Wings, who have won their last four straight games.

To do so, Kris Knoblauch decided to make a few lineup changes
: David Tomasek and Curtis Lazar are out, while Noah Philp and Isaac Howard will play.

Philp returned to the lineup for the first time since he scored his first NHL goal last week in a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

As for Howard, he's making his first trip back to Detroit since winning the Hobey Baker Award with Michigan State in the NCAA. He sat out yesterday's game against the New Jersey Devils.

As for the Red Wings, Lucas Raymond returned to the lineup, while Patrick Kane was sidelined due to an injury.
