The Detroit Red Wings lost goaltender Petr Mrazek to injury just minutes into last night's game against the Utah Hockey Club, and the latest update isn't good.

The good news for the Detroit Red Wings is that they picked up a critical pair of points thanks to their 5-1 win over the Utah Hockey Club in their 1st ever visit to Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
The bad news is that they lost goaltender Petr Mrazek not even 2 minutes into the contest after he was injured following a collision with Utah forward Dylan Guenther in the crease.
He did not return to the game and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the night. And the latest update on his condition is not encouraging.
Per beat writer Helene St. James, Todd McLellen has announced that Mrazek will not play in the remainder of Detroit's road trip.
Todd McLellan said Red Wings G Petr Mrazek won't play rest of trip, will be evaluated when team returns to Detroit Wednesday. Was injured 1p at Utah.
Head coach Todd McLellan appreciated Lyon's professionalism, coming in cold and rebounding from allowing the 1st shot he saw to shut the door the rest of the way and pick up the important win.
I thought Alex did a really good job coming in in a difficult situation a minute int a game when you certainly don't expect it. The first shot goes by him and now it's, 'OK, what are we going to get?' But he really settled and played a good game.

Alex was supposed to come tomorrow, but that's how things work sometimes. You get it a day before you expect it and he handled himself really well.

Tonight, the Red Wings play the Colorado Avalanche in Denver before returning home for back to back matchups against divisional foes; they'll face the Ottawa Senators on Thursday and the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
